Pleased with how the current arrangement is working, the Isle of Man government has decided not to externally replace Garth Kimber as head of e-gaming development.

Ray Davies will now assume the title head of e-gaming development and become the main point of contact for industry and press.

Tim Craine, director of business development at the Isle of Man government department of economic development, commented: "Following the departure of the previous head of e-gaming, Garth Kimber, the Isle of Man government department of economic development embarked upon a comprehensive review of the structures and personnel in place to support the island’s vital and important i-gaming sector, in order to determine how to most effectively drive inwards investment going forward.

“The department has now taken the decision that the existing arrangement – for which feedback from industry has been very positive – represents the best way of effectively supporting and developing this key industry in future."

The current team includes: Tim Craine, director of business development; Ray Davies, head of e-gaming development; and John Spellman, special adviser to the department.

“Ray Davies will be the main day-to-day point of contact for industry with prime responsibility for business development," said Craine. “The decision is no way reflects any change in strategy, priorities or resource. The department remains fully committed to supporting and growing the i-gaming sector, which has been a tremendous success for the island and is a central plank of the Island’s economic strategy.”
